Extract the archive and run setup

Step 1 of 4

Unzip the SAP GUI installer, then launch SetupAll.exe as administrator.

Download the file from above given link on top right.

Select the software -> Right Click -> Download

Double-click on the DMG file, which opens to display a SAPGUI for Java Installer icon.

Double-click on the icon to proceed (you may get a prompt warning that this installer-app was downloaded from the Internet– choose “Open” to continue)

Tip: Close Outlook and Excel before installing — SAP GUI installs add-ins along the way.

Open SAP GUI and Add the details .

Finish the setup and double click to access:

Save the entry, double-click it, and log in with your SAP user ID.

Frequently asked questions

Which SAP GUI version should I install?

SAP GUI 7.80 (latest patch) is recommended for new installs. If your organization runs an older backend, SAP GUI 7.70 usually remains compatible — check with your Basis team if unsure.

Do I need admin rights on my MAC machine?

Yes. The installer needs to be run as administrator to register components correctly, so you'll need local admin rights or IT to run it for you.

Can I install SAP GUI on MAC 11 ARM?

SAP GUI officially supports x64 Windows. On ARM devices it generally runs through emulation, but performance and support aren't guaranteed — a x64 machine or VM is recommended.

My login fails with 'no connection to partner'. What now?

Double-check the application server, instance number, and system ID in your SAP Logon entry, and confirm your machine can reach the server (VPN connected, firewall not blocking the port).
